Course Name: Certificate in Teaching at Foundational Stage
Course Id: CTFS/Q0101.

Eligibility: 10+2 (Higher Secondary) or equivalent is required.

Objective: The Certificate in Teaching at Foundational Stage is designed to equip aspiring and in-service teachers with a strong foundation in early childhood education, focusing on the age group of 3 to 8 years (Pre-primary to Grade 2). The course emphasizes child-centric, activity-based, and play-way learning methodologies aligned with the National Education Policy (NEP 2020). It aims to develop competencies in early literacy, numeracy, socio-emotional learning, inclusive education, and classroom management.

Duration: Three Months.

 How to Enroll and Get Certified in Your Chosen Course:

 Step 1: Choose the course you wish to get certified in.

 Step 2: Click on the “Enroll Now” button.

 Step 3: Proceed with the enrollment process.

 Step 4: Enter your billing details and continue to course fee payment.

 Step 5: You will be redirected to the payment gateway. Pay the course and exam fee using one of the following methods:
Debit/Credit Card, Wallet, Paytm, Net Banking, UPI, or Google Pay.

 Step 6: After successful payment, you will receive your study material login ID and password via email within 48 hours of fee payment.

 Step 7: Once you complete the course, take the online examination.

 Step 8: Upon passing the examination, you will receive:
• A soft copy (scanned) of your certificate via email within 7 days of examination.
• A hard copy (original with official seal and signature) sent to your address within 45 day of declaration of result.

 Step 9: After certification, you will be offered job opportunities aligned with your area of interest.

Online Examination Detail:

Duration- 60 minutes.
No. of Questions- 30. (Multiple Choice Questions).
Maximum Marks- 100, Passing Marks- 40%.
There is no negative marking in this module.

Module 1: Understanding the Child and Developmental Stages: Child development stages (0-8 years), Physical, cognitive, emotional and social development, Developmental milestones, Role of play in development, Early brain development, Gender sensitivity in teaching, Understanding diverse learning needs, Inclusive education at foundational level, Observation and assessment techniques, Nurturing curiosity and creativity.

Module 2: Foundational Literacy and Numeracy (FLN): Concept and importance of FLN, Language acquisition in early years, Listening and speaking skills development, Reading readiness and strategies, Writing skills and fine motor development, Basic numeracy concepts (counting, shapes, patterns), Using manipulatives for math learning, Activities for number sense, Assessment in FLN, Integration of FLN in daily activities.

Module 3: Pedagogy and Classroom Practices: Developmentally appropriate pedagogy, Child-centered teaching methods, Storytelling and role play techniques, Use of rhymes, songs and poems, Activity-based and experiential learning, Creating inclusive and engaging classrooms, Classroom management strategies, Use of low-cost teaching aids, Daily schedule and routines, Observation and reflective teaching.

Module 4: Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE) Framework: NEP 2020 and ECCE vision, Structure and objectives of ECCE, Role of Anganwadi and pre-primary schools, Components of quality ECCE, Health, nutrition and hygiene education, Socio-emotional learning and life skills, Community participation in ECCE, Record-keeping and reporting, Parental involvement in learning, Curriculum planning for foundational stage.

Module 5: Teaching Learning Materials and Resources: Designing age-appropriate learning materials, Use of local and cultural resources, Visual and auditory learning aids, ICT in early education, Toy-based learning and play materials, Books, charts and flashcards usage, Resource corner/classroom library setup, Materials for inclusive learners, Safety in materials and classroom setup, Creating a joyful learning environment.
