Course Name: Certificate in Montessori Teaching Skills
Course Id: CMTS/Q0101.
Eligibility: 10+2 (Higher Secondary) or equivalent is required.
Objective: The Certificate in Montessori Teaching Skills course is designed for aspiring and current teachers who wish to specialize in the Montessori method of education. It focuses on child-centered teaching practices that nurture self-directed learning, hands-on activities, and respect for a child’s natural psychological development.
Duration: Three Months.
How to Enroll and Get Certified in Your Chosen Course:
Step 1: Choose the course you wish to get certified in.
Step 2: Click on the “Enroll Now” button.
Step 3: Proceed with the enrollment process.
Step 4: Enter your billing details and continue to course fee payment.
Step 5: You will be redirected to the payment gateway. Pay the course and exam fee using one of the following methods:
Debit/Credit Card, Wallet, Paytm, Net Banking, UPI, or Google Pay.
Step 6: After successful payment, you will receive your study material login ID and password via email within 48 hours of fee payment.
Step 7: Once you complete the course, take the online examination.
Step 8: Upon passing the examination, you will receive:
• A soft copy (scanned) of your certificate via email within 7 days of examination.
• A hard copy (original with official seal and signature) sent to your address within 45 day of declaration of result.
Step 9: After certification, you will be offered job opportunities aligned with your area of interest.
Online Examination Detail:
Duration- 60 minutes.
No. of Questions- 30. (Multiple Choice Questions).
Maximum Marks- 100, Passing Marks- 40%.
There is no negative marking in this module.

Syllabus:
Module 1: Introduction to Montessori Philosophy and Method: Principles of Montessori education, Life and work of Dr. Maria Montessori, Differences between traditional and Montessori teaching, The absorbent mind and sensitive periods, Importance of prepared environment, Freedom with responsibility, Role of the Montessori teacher, Mixed-age classroom concept, Respect for the child, Observation as a teaching tool.
Module 2: Montessori Curriculum – Practical Life Exercises: Introduction to practical life activities, Care of self (dressing, grooming), Care of environment (cleaning, watering plants), Grace and courtesy lessons, Pouring and transferring activities, Food preparation and table setting, Use of Montessori materials (spoons, jugs, tongs), Development of concentration and coordination, Enhancing fine motor skills, Promoting independence and order.
Module 3: Montessori Curriculum – Sensorial Development: Purpose and goals of sensorial education, Introduction to Montessori sensorial materials, Visual discrimination of size, shape, and color, Tactile and thermic sense materials, Auditory and olfactory exercises, Grading and matching activities, Use of Pink Tower, Brown Stair, Color Tablets, Language development through sensorial work, Encouraging exploration and discovery.
Module 4: Montessori Curriculum – Language Development: Language acquisition in early years, Introduction to phonics and sound games, Sandpaper letters and moveable alphabet, Vocabulary enrichment activities, Matching, naming, and classification cards, Storytelling and picture reading, Early writing skills and pre-writing patterns, Developing reading fluency, Language games and rhymes, Integrating language with other areas.
Module 5: Montessori Curriculum – Mathematics and Cultural Studies: Introduction to Montessori math materials, Number rods and sandpaper numbers, Spindle box and number cards, Golden beads and decimal system, Addition, subtraction, multiplication, division activities, Cultural subjects – geography, botany, zoology, history, Sensorial integration with math and culture, Use of globes, maps, and puzzle boards, Celebrating festivals and global awareness.
Module 6: Classroom Management and Assessment in Montessori: Setting up a Montessori classroom, Maintaining discipline through environment, Observation and record-keeping techniques, Individualized instruction and lesson planning, Child progress reports and portfolios, Communication with parents and guardians, Transition from Montessori to formal schooling, Ethical practices in Montessori teaching, Use of Montessori albums and charts, Continuous professional development.
