Course Name: Skill-Based Diploma in Early Childhood Learning & Care

Course Id: SBDECLC/Q1001.

Eligibility: candidates should have completed higher Secondary (10+2) or its equivalent.

Objective: The primary goal of the program is to train individuals in understanding child development, creating nurturing learning environments, and using age-appropriate teaching techniques. Students learn to support the physical, emotional, social, and cognitive development of children and help them grow into well-rounded individuals.

Duration: Six Months.

 How to Enroll and Get Certified in Your Chosen Course:

 Step 4: Enter your billing details and continue to course fee payment.

 Step 6: After successful payment, you will receive your study material login ID and password via email within 48 hours of fee payment.

 Step 7: Once you complete the course, take the online examination.

 Step 8: Upon passing the examination, you will receive:
• A soft copy (scanned) of your certificate via email within 7 days of examination.
• A hard copy (original with official seal and signature) sent to your address within 45 day of declaration of result.

 Step 9: After certification, you will be offered job opportunities aligned with your area of interest.

Online Examination Detail:

• Duration- 120 minutes.
• No. of Questions- 60. (Multiple Choice Questions).
• 10 Questions from each module, each carry 10 marks.
• Maximum Marks- 600, Passing Marks- 40%.
• There is no negative marking in this module.

Syllabus

Early Childhood Care and Education: Significance of ecce, objectives of ecce, components of ecce, early intervention, the process of development.

Fundamentals of Child Development: Factors affecting growth and development, environmental, development of children during ages three to six years, importance of play during early childhood, growth and development during infancy, growth and development during toddlerhood.

Curriculum, Practices and Progress: Meaning of age- and developmentally appropriate ecce curriculum or programme, need and importance of contextualization of ecce curriculum, principles of quality ecce planning, planning and designing an ecce programme, appreciating diversity and planning an inclusive preschool.

Organization and Management of ECCE Centre:  Administration and management in the context of an ecce centre, responsibility of ecce management, benefits of keeping records, mobilization and utilization of resources.

Health, Hygiene and Nutrition:  Maternal mortality and health, health and nutrition, heredity, health and nutrition including supplementary nutrition, stakeholder in ecce.

Establishing Relations with Parents and Society: Defining parent involvement, defining community involvement, why do we need parents and community awareness, benefits of parents and community involvement, ways of effective involvement of parents and community in functioning of ecce centre/preschool, community ownership and participation, key features of sound partnerships between early childhood centres and parents, issues to be discussed with parents and community on fixed ecce day or during parent education conference, steps to organize a successful, parent teacher meeting/parent conference.
