Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana
PMKVY (Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana) comes under the scheme of “Skill India” which was launched by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi on 15th July 2015. The PMKVY (Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana Scheme) was launched to help the youth in India to specialize in different skills.
This scheme aims to provide aptitude to the Indian youth towards major skills and raise the standard of working and the efficiency to complete the job.
The enrolled students are motivated by giving monetary rewards to increase them and providing them with quality training. The scheme also intends to increase the employment rate from 4.9% in 2014.
India has the largest number of youth, and the Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana Scheme will benefit them and make them the most employable and with better skill sets by the year 2022.
PMKVY has been rigorously implemented in states like Bihar to make the X/XII dropouts skilled and employable.
Skills imparted by PMKVY are according to the current job requirements assessed by the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC). Currently, about 430 job roles are being catered by the Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY).

(PMKVY) is the flagship scheme of the Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship (MSDE).
The objective of this Skill Certification Scheme is to enable a large number of Indian youth to take up industry-relevant skill training that will help them in securing a better livelihood. Individuals with prior learning experience or skills will also be assessed and certified under Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL).
The Union Cabinet on 13th July 2016, Approved the PMKVY) with an outlay of Rs.12000 crore to impart skill training to one crore people over the next four years(2016-2020).
Pmkvy will impart fresh training to 60 lakh youths and certify skills of 40 lakh persons acquired non-formally under the Recognition of Prior Learning(RPL).
The target allocation between fresh trainings and RPL will be flexible and interchangeable depending on functional and operational requirements, an official statement said.
The Scheme, completely aligned to the common norms as notified earlier. would move to grant based model where the training and assessment cost would be directly reimbursed to training providers and assessing bodies in accordance to the Common Norms.
Financial Support to Trainees will be given in the form of travel allowance, boarding and lodging costs, Post Placement Support would be given directly to the beneficiaries through Direct Benefit transfer(DBT).
Disbursement of training Cost to Training Partners will be linked to Aadhar and Biometrics for Better Transparency and targeting. Skill Training would be done based on industry led standards aligned to the National Skill Qualification Framework(NSQF).

National Apprenticeship Promotion Scheme, NAPS Project
Apprenticeship Training is considered to be one of the most efficient ways to develop skilled manpower for the country.
It provides for an industry led, practice oriented, effective and efficient mode of formal training. National Apprenticeship Promotion Scheme is to promote apprenticeship training in the country.
As per the scheme, Government of India will share 25% of prescribed stipend subject to a maximum of Rs. 1500 per month per apprentice with the employers.
Government of India will also share maximum Rs.7500 per fresher apprentice (without any formal trade training) as a cost of basic training with Basic Training Providers.
The scheme would commence from 1st October, 2016. Employers who have engaged the apprentices before 1st October, 2016 will get the benefits of scheme from 1st October, 2016 only.
State Apprenticeship Advisers (SAAs) and Regional Directorates of Apprenticeship (RDATs) will act as implementing agencies in their respective State/Regions.
Objective of the Scheme
The main objective of the scheme is to promote apprenticeship training and to increase the engagement of apprentices from present 2.3 lakh to 50 lakh cumulatively by 2020.
ESDM
About ESDM – The Scheme is proposed to target students studying at IX/X standard onwards, ITI, Polytechnic, under-graduate (non-engineering) and also unemployed youth who are school dropouts from 8th pass onwards, ITI Certificate or Diploma holders, graduates from non-engineering background, registrants in Employment Exchanges.
Unemployed youth in the non-formal sector can also benefit from this Scheme.
A student who is unable to pass the exam in the initial attempt will be eligible to apply for re-appear cycle. A candidate will be allowed only two re-appear attempts. The re-assessment fees would be the same as the assessment fees, payable by the student to the Training Partner and transferred to the Certifying Agency.
